At least seven of the twenty passengers injured in yesterday’s bus crash south of Mackenzie are in serious condition.
One had to be airlifted to hospital at the scene, while six others were taken by ambulance, but later transferred to another hospital by air.
Of those six, police say four are stable, but still in serious condition.
The other 13 were taken to hospital by a bus filled with paramedics.
Northern Health had declared a Code Orange at both the Mackenzie and District Hospital, and the University Hospital of Northern BC in Prince George.
Both have since returned to normal operations.
While they had dispatched a bus to lend assistance, Mackenzie Secondary School says they were not involved in the crash.
It saw the bus leave the road on Highway 39 at around 9:00 in the morning, with no cause determined so far.
The bus had been chartered by Australian contractor IREN to bring the passengers to a local data centre.
