LNG Canada has confirmed that the Maran Gas Roxana vessel is en route to its terminal in Kitimat, B.C., with a shipment of liquefied natural gas. The delivery, expected in early April, will support equipment testing as part of the facility’s start-up operations ahead of its planned 2025 export launch. The shipment is not for export but will be used to test the facility’s equipment and cool its storage tank. The Maran Gas Roxana, a 295-meter-long vessel, will be escorted by B.C. Coast Pilots and HaiSea Marine tugs as it docks at the terminal. The process, which includes cooling and testing the facility, will take several weeks. This shipment marks a key step in the commissioning process for Canada’s first major LNG export terminal, which remains on track to ship its first cargo by mid-2025.
