Fort St John RCMP are investigating a recent case of vandalism as a potential hate crime. On February 16, 2025, officers responded to a report of graffiti at the Treaty 8 Tribal Association building on 100th Avenue. Sometime overnight, two swastikas and a derogatory message were spray-painted on the building’s exterior wall. The RCMP are treating the incident as a hate crime and are working to obtain video surveillance from nearby businesses to identify possible suspects. The graffiti has since been removed. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Fort St John RCMP at 250-787-8100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
