Welcome to an Episode of Journeys with Kelly Kenny. What an episode this is! So much great conversation that I have decided this must be a 3 part series! So today is part two! Now when I say we had a great conversation I mean it was just so rich with great stories and advice I had hard time deciding what to cut then decided why lets keep it all.
This guest of Journeys was a delight and I would like to introduce Meeka Morgan the Artistic Director of 2 Rivers Remix. Since 2018 2 Rivers Remix holds a free multi day music festival in which is fondly known as a contemporary music festival meaning all genres are accepted. The first festival was held in Lytton, B.C., but has since had to be re-imagine as too what it would look like with respects to the awful June 30, 2021 forest fires that took Lytton by surprise. My heart and soul go to those whom have suffered losses of these devastating fires. They have since pivoted many times as they as a team at 2 Rivers Remix have seen the healing that the festival brings to the people; Meeka states the festival is what is helping her team continue to look forward and count their blessings. The upcoming dates for this “Movable feast” are August 23rd in Williams Lake First Nation; then in Okanagan Indian Band on August 25th.
Did I mention that this Festival is Free? You must check out the line up and attend if possible; but again with what the team at 2 Rivers Remix learned is that the online streaming is also very healing and informative for those who may not to be able to attend.
