A new bylaw which looks to streamline the process to obtain outdoor cafe and sidewalk vendor licenses has received first, second, and third readings from Quesnel City Council.
Under the proposed bylaw, samll outdoor cafes will garner a 25 dollar application fee, while large versions will face a 100 dollar fee.
Building permit fees are not included in those figures.
A small cafe may feature up to two sidewalk tables, while a large cafe may be adjacent to the business on the sidewalk, space permitting.
For sidewalk vendors, the applications would be accepted on a first come, first serve, basis, with an application fee of 250 dollars.
Council must now consider final adoption of the bylaws at their next regular meeting.
