One person is dead after a head-on crash near McLeod Lake last night.
Mackenzie RCMP say a southbound Dodge pickup crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a north-bound transport truck on Highway 97 at Haight Road
The man at the wheel of the pickup, a 56-year-old resident of the Cariboo-Chilcotin, was killed while the transport truck driver suffered minor injuries.
Highway 97 was closed in both directions for a number of hours as RCMP, The BC Coroners’ Service, Commercial Vehicle and Safety Enforcement officers, and WorkSafe BC investigated.
Road and weather conditions were reported to be good, and the collision occurred on a straight stretch in a 100 km/h zone.
