As a cold snap hits Terrace and area this weekend, those without shelter are reminded of the cold weather respite available at the Turning Points building on Lakelse. Operated by the Ksan Society, the facility is open daily from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and offers a safe space with snacks, showers, and laundry facilities. Temperatures are expected to drop to daytime highs of minus 9 and overnight lows between minus 7 and minus 14, making it vital for those in need to access shelter. However, both the Hall Street and Tetrault Street facilities are at capacity, and Turning Points has a limited number of beds available. Anyone needing a warm place to stay is encouraged to seek shelter as soon as possible.
